This table lamp consists of two different types of wood, which together complement the final aspect of the lamp. The base and the arm are made from local birch wood and the lampshade consists of ash veneer. The lamp shade offers practical function as shielding the eyes from direct light, but also diffusing and softening the light, but also tinting the light in your room. The lamp’s form is that of a boat sailing in calm waters which will make a perfect gift for someone who is passionate about boats.

The birch wood is close-grained with a satiny texture and capable of taking a fine polish enough to be chosen for the base and arm of the lamp. After sanding, for a final touch, a fine lacquer was applied to give durability to the finish. The ash veneer has interesting grain features which made this lamp shade even more decorative and ornamental. The ash veneer also enhances the look of the wood lamp, giving it colour, tone, and depth.
